In this project, we worked closely with the architect to design the building’s façades using natural stone, with the cladding installed onto precast concrete elements at the factory. This solution significantly reduced on-site installation time and proved to be a cost-effective overall approach.

We utilise specialised techniques that allow natural stone to be fixed to concrete elements in a structurally sound and long-lasting manner. At the same time, this ensures a visually high-quality and architecturally striking result.

Norwegian Alta slate was used in the project. The top and bottom edges of the stones were sawn to achieve a controlled and refined appearance, while the ends were left natural, adding variation and a more organic character to the façade. The joints were executed as deep joints, emphasising the shape and texture of the stone surface. The thickness of the stones ranged from 10 to 30 mm.

Corner stones for the elements were pre-mitred by us prior to delivery to the precast factory, ensuring precise alignment and a high-quality finish at the building corners.

The laying pattern was developed in close collaboration with the architect. Rhythm and scale were introduced to the façade by using two different stone heights, resulting in a dynamic and carefully considered overall composition.

The stones were installed at the precast factory in accordance with Stonegroup’s instructions.
