Lappi White is a unique natural stone and Europe’s only white slate, quarried in Sodankylä from Stonegroup’s own quarry. This 100% Finnish quartzite slate is exceptionally dense and durable, making it an excellent choice for both interior and exterior use, even in demanding applications. Lappi White combines high quality, durability and timeless aesthetics.

The stone’s natural quartzite composition makes it highly scratch-resistant and easy to maintain. Lappi White does not easily stain and retains its light, fresh appearance even under heavy use. Its pale tone reflects light beautifully, creating a sense of openness, brightness and a modern look. The natural stone surface is both timeless and visually striking, suitable for a wide range of architectural applications.

Lappi White slate is well suited for façades, patios, terraces, walkways, as well as interior flooring and wall surfaces. In outdoor environments, the stone performs exceptionally well in frost, moisture and varying weather conditions. Indoors, it works as a durable and elegant surface material for both residential and public spaces. Its dense structure and high wear resistance make it a long-lasting solution for projects where both functionality and visual quality are required.

Slate is a sustainable choice, as its carbon footprint is exceptionally low compared to many other building materials. Natural stone requires minimal processing and does not require energy-intensive production processes, significantly reducing associated emissions. In addition, the long service life and low maintenance requirements of slate further reduce its environmental impact throughout its lifecycle. An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is available for Stonegroup’s slate products, providing reliable and transparent information on environmental performance across the entire lifecycle. An EPD helps support sustainable material selection, particularly in construction and infrastructure projects where environmental requirements and responsibility play a key role.
